Marcel Bryar

Marcel is an experienced attorney and business executive in the mortgage and real estate industries. He is an expert on the operations, business models and key players of the industries, including the origination and servicing of single-family mortgages, mortgage securitization, the market for residential homes, multifamily investment and the government sponsored enterprises, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Marcel served as a senior attorney and business executive at both Fannie Mae and J.P. Morgan Chase between 2000 and 2014. During that time, he played leadership roles in major compliance, legal, and business initiatives, including the automation of loan origination and closing, President Obama's Making Home Affordable program, the servicing alignment initiative of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, Fannie Mae’s regulatory consent order and Chase's implementation of the National Mortgage Settlement.

Currently, Marcel advises clients seeking to invest in or grow their mortgage and real estate businesses, including mortgage companies, private equity firms, insurers and business process outsourcing providers. Marcel also serves as an expert witness in mortgage related litigation. He has written expert reports, testified in depositions and, as an attorney, taken depositions.

Marcel is a founder of a multifamily investment firm, Bryar & Wollner LLC. The firm invests in apartment buildings in under-served communities, buying and managing properties that generate outstanding returns.
